![]() ![]() This will allow you to remove a single doctrine of your choice and retrieve the commandment stone. They can never be revived, and your cult takes a massive hit to faith. Even though there are always plenty of ways such features can be balanced.ġ) Perform a special kind of ritual that sacrifices 3-5 followers to the void. Generally tend to be the "balance" argument. Just another example of where developers fail to expand into QoL features for whatever reason. That sucks.Īnd yet, I can think of a few ways that would fit into what the game has already done that would allow you to effectively reset your doctrines. There is a topic named "Necromancy vs funeral" (run a discussion forum search for funerals or something related and you should find it) that mentions that the follower reverts to youthful but has their age listed consistent with how old they actually are. It is hard to believe that there is something that lets you keep followers forever. If you are talking about some other ritual, I wonder what are the actual rules for it if you have a screenshot. It has a cooldown so it means that eventually everyone will die anyway as you won't be able to resurrect everyone. The only way it will be useful if you want to sacrifice someone and then bring him back right away for some reason or if someone died on a crusade or as martyr for your death. If you will rely on it you will just end up with a bunch of old followers who don't work. Do you mean resurrection ritual? If so does it change the age of the follower? If not it is pretty useless. I went through the death doctrine chain and don't see necromancy. Originally posted by One (1) Lini:And how about necromancy VS burials? Burials give a small faith bonus, which there doesn't seem to be a lack of, while necromancy supposedly just lets you keep followers around and keep raising their levels, which I assume makes an impact when you start using the summoning circle. ![]() It's also okay to play a game more than once. It's ok not to see and do everything in a game the first time through, it's ok to not maximize every aspect of your game. The need to minmax is whats making that not fun. Plus, there's obviously the potential of updates rebalancing the doctrines, what then? Should everyone be stuck with the nerfed doctrine, or only be able to try out the buffed doctrine by starting an entirely new game from scratch? That sure doesn't sound fun to me. Players going in blind can feel cheated when they realize one seemingly weak option becomes much more powerful in later stages, and others will feel 'forced' to look at guides to pick the 'right' options, which just isn't fun. When there's 20 permanent choices that sometimes massively affect the metagame, and some you'll make before you fully understand the impact of your choices, or synergies that are possible with future choices, you end up with a lot of potential regret. The difference between fun consequences and painful consequences is when a choice you make fundamentally changes the way the game exists, and it's impossible to rectify that choice. Don't meet the needs of your followers, they get upset. This game has plenty of consequences already.
